The Lantern is thrilled to announce auditions for our upcoming production of Stepping Out by Richard Harris. Get your dancing shoes ready for this lively comedy that promises laughter, camaraderie, and a whole lot of fun!
About the Play
Stepping Out follows the journey of a group of "amateur" but enthusiastic dancers as they navigate their way through the twists and turns of learning to tap dance. Led by the determined and charismatic Mavis, this motley crew embarks on a quest to overcome their inhibitions and left feet in their local dance studio. With minor dramas bubbling up amidst the dance routines, the stage is set for a heartwarming and entertaining performance.
In addition to its infectious energy and witty humour, Stepping Out offers a touching exploration of friendship, self-discovery, and the transformative power of pursuing one's passions. As the characters stumble and twirl their way towards the recital, they learn valuable lessons about perseverance, acceptance, and the joy of embracing life's imperfections. Audiences will be captivated by the heartwarming journey of these unlikely dancers as they come together to find their rhythm and shine on stage.

Mark your calendars for a six-night run from Monday 9th to Saturday 13th December 2024.
Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 PM to 10 PM, with additional sessions on Sundays from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Please note that rehearsals may occasionally vary due to events at The Lantern. As we approach the performance week, additional technical, dress, and choreography rehearsals may be needed to ensure everything runs smoothly. Your Director, Alison Glentworth, will provide detailed information during the workshops.
