This December, the DGP are bringing the classic Christmas tale to the stage in a wonderful traditional version making extensive use of the original text from Dickens’ novella.

A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge who, after being visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come is transformed from a miserable old miser into a kinder, gentler man.

Please note – auditions are open to adults. There are no roles for children in this particular version. All children in the script will be represented on stage creatively.

The key characters are Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s Nephew, Bob Cratchit, The Ghost of Christmas Past, The Ghost of Christmas Present and Belle. The play is also narrated by Charles Dickens.

There are a variety of other roles throughout that can be individually or double cast. These roles will be finalised following the workshops.

No preparation is necessary, auditions are workshop style and will be held at the Lantern Theatre, Kenwood Park Road, Sheffield, S7 1NF.

Audition dates: Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th July (7:30pm – 9pm) / Sunday 23rd July (4:30pm – 6pm)
