Do you have a favourite play?

The DIlys Guite Players, our resident community theatre group, are interested to know if there are any plays that you’d like to see them perform. They are currently looking at future seasons and, while they have plenty of ideas to choose from, they wondered what your favourite plays are to help them make the selection.

Click here to take part in the survey and you never know, maybe your choice will be part of their season.

An open invitation to everyone.

If you are an existing DGP member or someone thinking about joining our vibrant theatre group, we’d love you to join us on one of our members open evenings and workshops. Keep a look out for dates as they do change in line with productions we have on at the theatre.

On selected dates we meet at the *Lantern Theatre, between 7-10pm. It’s a chance to get together for drinks, have a chat, read plays, take part in an occasional workshop and generally get to know other members of this lively theatre community better (or, indeed, for the first time).

The DGP’s play reading group is an opportunity for members and the community to get together and explore a variety of work that may be performed by our members in the future.

This is a free session for members of the DGP (sometimes we will need to source the scripts from elsewhere and there will be a small charge for this which will be advised in advance). If you are not currently a member of the DGP you are very welcome to come along and each session will carry a small £1 charge.

We will have a limited number of scripts, borrowed from the library, but will make sure everyone gets the chance to contribute and read. The format of the evening will be reading the script aloud, a short break and then a discussion section. With so many great pieces to choose from, the scripts will be varied each month so we will have plenty to talk about afterwards.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sarah Spencer at:

*Please note, if dates fall on a performance evening we will meet at an alternative venue. Details will always be updated on our website and social media.
